Takashi Murakami Biography
Born in Tokyo in 1962.
Graduated from the Department of Japanese Painting, Faculty of Fine Arts, Tokyo University of the Arts in 1986.
1992 Announced "DOB-kun" modeled on a mouse.
Received a PhD in the 1993 treatise "Meaningless Meaning".
1996 Established Hiropon Factory.
2001 Established Kaikai Kiki Co., Ltd.
2006 Received the 56th Art Award, Minister of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology Newcomer Award (Art Promotion Division).
2008 Selected as one of the "100 Most Influential People in the World" by Time magazine.
2010 Murakami's exhibition "Murakami Versailles" is held at the Palace of Versailles, France.
2016 Takashi Murakami's 500 Rakan Illustration Exhibition. Received the Minister of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology Award.
